The 2015 Tasmanian devil scientific trip included an Arthur River record for quolls trapped in one line (9), with special mention to one spotted-tailed friend who was released from one trap and managed to race down to another further down the line for a quick feed before being sent out again. We also saw wombats, echidnas, pademelons, ringtail and brushtail possums and – of course – the devils. Gini Andersen’s study work from last year has shown that devils run about 8 - 10km a night, and our habitat studies this year have laid a clear baseline from which to study changes in the next few years. A highlight for our birding members was a ground parrot, which flushed and soared across the path in clear sight one morning.
