"THE CURE FOR BOREDOM IS CURIOSITY. THERE IS NO CURE FOR CURIOSITY."
Galápagos & Quito March 2017
16–27 March, 2017
Join us for 12 days exploring the magical Galápagos islands and the beautiful city of Quito, Ecuador’s high-in-the-Andes capital.
From snow-crowned volcanoes, to World Heritage-listed old cities, to Amazonian rainforests teeming with diversity, and the fabled Galápagos Islands – Ecuador might be one of Latin America’s smallest nations, but it’s big on natural beauty, culture and history.
We’re taking a detailed look at two of Ecuador’s treasures – with the option of a third – in March 2017, and we’d love you to join us.We are going to the Galapagos to experience a completely different side to it – its brief green period, when lowland shrubs and trees such as the palo santo are in leaf. It's a season of life and dancing in the archipelago, as the waved albatross return after months at sea, meet up with their partners and perform their extraordinary, detailed reacquaintance ritual. It's also the time that the blue footed boobies get their groove on, brighten up their delightful feet and tap dance their way into each other's hearts. Sea turtle nests are hatching, frigatebirds nesting and finches making the most of the months of plenty.
All this, and the favourites as well: marine iguanas, sea lions, tortoises and sally lightfoot crabs. The water's warm, and days are sunshiny bright. The trip group is small, with a maximum of 14 people and a comfortable boat with easy access on and off for the many daily excursions, including walks, snorkelling and small boat rides to get up close to the islands' amazing geology and littoral zone flora and fauna.
We can't wait – and would love to have you along. If you're interested in coming or would like more information, please send us an email, or give us a call on 03 6234 4918.
